We currently have a 24 month lease with our landlord and have only completed 12 month of the lease. She has filed for bankruptcy, and thus will be foreclosing on the property we are currently renting. She returned out August rent check of $1250.00 as her attorney advised her she was unable to accept any funds. The tenant law passed this May or June, states the bank has to give you 90 days to relocate in the case of foreclosure but also states you should continue to pay your rent

Ok my boyfriend was living in a trailer and when he left for a couple of weeks the landlord broke into the trailer and took his computer, laptop, playstation and tv. Left all of his clothing and military uniforms dises and dvds unattended in an open trailer anyone could get into and take things from.

As a homeowner,what is the best way to handle a disuptive (loud late night partys in the backyard) neighbor who is renting? We have called police and advised landlord, but the problem persists and is escalating. We are going to send a letter, cerified return receipt, verifing a recent conversation with the landlord that he has not decided whether to continue renting to them.

can my landlord have the right to serve me a notice that we are breaking the lease agreement if we talk to the other tenants inor business complex? can he continuosly talk about religion on the phone to me when im just trying to get him to do some maintenance? What do i have to do to protect my self from him suing me ,is bankruptcy an option?

I just got a summons for non- payment of rent for my business, if I am going to close this store(I have another store also) , would the court issue a judgment for the amount I owe for rent? or I just have to vacate the property & the landlord have to file a law suite to get a judgment for the amount owed?

Background: I’m a tenant in NY state (Erie County). Recently, I found that a computer I had stored in the basement is missing, only a couple days after my landlord had removed winter tires I kept in the garage and left them to be picked up by sanitation services. Use of the basement or garage is never mentioned in my lease
