I signed a rental lease for an apartment for three years but I never received a copy of the lease until one year later. In that lease, after I received, I noticed there was a paragragh stating no pets allowed even though our neighbors have a pet and they moved in after we did. I got a pet no knowing there was a no pet rule based on the assumption it was ok to have since neighbors had one.

I have been given a chance to take a promotion in another city, but my lease is not specific on what I have to pay as a penalty if I except this position and break my lease. My daugheters apartment complex let 4-5 months go by and let her renew her lease and didn’t tell her three months back rent was owedsomeone stole her pin # She couldn’t pay it all so they evicted her.They said she could make payments to collections for back rent.Afterward they said she now owes 12,000 for lease it ends in 2010 !!!They turned it over to coolections and they are going to make mine and her credit bad.She goes to college and my name is on her lease. I have a condo in Lisle, IL that I am renting.The tenant moved in May & the one year lease says “no pets”.I wanted to sell the condo but no one was buying.Soon after signing, she said she maybe wanted a dog.I told her the lease would have to be ammended and that I’d think about it. I never said “yes”.Her rent is due the 1st of each month with a grace period in that if the rent isn’t in by the 5th, there’s a late fee.Except for once, it’s been a real aggravation getting her rent, on time or otherwise.This time, she was 15 days late, her check bounced she says it was because her paycheck bounced. She asked about a dog again.
