Although my lease technically bars pets from my Brooklyn apartment building, myself and MULTIPLE other tenants in the building have dogs, some of which were there LONG before me. In fact, when I moved in 3 years ago without any pets, I noticed a strong stench of urine ALREADY in the elevator, soaked permanently into the floor! I’ve now had a dog for 2 years & the Mgmt. Co.

I have recently left my current residence, I gave 45 days notice as what is required on my lease. They are saying i owe them a extra months rent because i gave notice in the middle of the month. The 45 days notice matched with the end of my lease agrement

My landlord did not tell us the previous tenant had died in the condo we are presently renting nor did he tell us that heavy chemicals were used to clean the condo after the death. Because of this, can we break our lease and not be liable for payment of the months left on the lease agreement?

Our rental lease states the following: “The term of this lease shall be for a term of approximately 12 months, commencing on the 24th day of October 2008 and terminating on the 30th day of September 2009 at 12:00 o’clock midnight, for a total rent of $17940.00. The rental will automatically convert to month-to-month rental effective 10/24, 2009 in the absence of written 30-day notice to terminate by either party prior to 9/23, 2009.” I am confused as to when the actual end of the lease is??? The dollar anount stated would mena the term was for 12 months X $1495 per month, but does the lease end on the 30th of September
